Emphasis- Creating Emphasis in a photograph is purposely drawing our viewer to a specific point through either a contrast in size, color, texture, shape. Additionally, Emphasis can be created in isolation or placement.
In this photo of the statue of liberty, I see a statue that is isolated compared to the rest of the picture. When looking at this photo, your eye is drawn to the statue of liberty. Emphasis can be seen in this photo in the statue of liberty. Since the statue is the main image of this photo, it is isolated compared to its surrounding, which creates emphasis to the statue.
In this photo of the sky, I see a toucan that is black, white, and orange. When Emphasis in this photo can be seen in the toucan. The toucan is such a different color than the sky, that it makes the toucan stick out compared to the rest of the photo which is of the sky. This emphasis conveys a sense of tropical in my opinion because it reminds me of a tropical rain forest where the toucan lives. This image is appealing to me because toucans are such adorable animals with gorgeous colors.
